“There are rules in place for a reason, and students, who plan to be productive
employees need to follow the rules, regardless of what they want to do. Employees need to be trainable.”
“After the in-service day I’ve decided to continue teaching what I already teach emphasizing cooperation skills, communication and teamwork. I will continue to reinforce basic math skills such as reading tape measures and fractions and stress the importance of accuracy. Creating a sense of pride in work done is also important in the work place, which is something I’ve been doing since the beginning. All in all, an enlightening in-service day.”
“I thought the field trip was very educational. I was quite surprised at the amount of technology that is being used right here in our area. Both businesses were very impressive, and I feel like I can present more post-high school options to my students. I plan to incorporate more hands-on activities that involve measurement in my regular and PSSA prep classes. I would also like to do more application-based activities to promote thinking skills. Great day!”
Many other positive comments and classroom applications were made by the staff. The faculty
was able to develop real life applications to the classroom instruction that occurs each day at Keystone High School.
