| Congratulations to Mr. Baker, the Clarion Conservation District's 2008 Conservation Educator of the Year. The recognition was a result of his Canoe Creek Watershed project, a decade-long project worked on entirely by students who donated their time and energy. | Congrats to Ms. Rutkowski, who is one of 100 teachers from across the state selected from 600 nominations to attend the Keystones Technology Integrators (KTI) Summit this July at Bucknell University. A KTI is a teacher who uses "technology in creative ways to engage learners and improve student performance." |

| Congratulations to Señora Patton, who received an $800 Target Field Trip grant. Senora wrote the grant to help fund a trip to Pittsburgh for her Spanish students in Grades 9-12. The Panther wrestlers were tournament runners-up. | Nationally acclaimed sculptor and KHS alumnus David Young "rolled" into Keystone's auditorium to present and lecture about his art. David received the International Sculpture Center's 2007 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. One of only 20 student artists in the world to receive the prestigious award, Young won for his kinetic piece, "Object in Motion." David's sculptures don't wait around for viewers to appreciate them. He utilizes time and various energy sources to make his work come alive, where the spectators actually experience and become a "part of" the work. | Tuesdae participated in the I.U.P. Honors Band concert. The concert was directed by Dr. Jack Stamp. She also was selected for District Jazz Band. Congratulations, Tuesdae! | Congratulations to Kerri and Andrea for earning the Girl Scouts Gold Award. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout 14-18 may earn. Kerri and Andrea built 8 bookcases at Mid-Atlantic Youth Services and filled them with books so the youth placed there could not only increase their reading level but also boost their interest in reading. |

The Senteos integrate with the Smartboards installed in each classroom. Mrs. Clark's Reading 8 classes (pictured) used the "clickers" for a check-up quiz on Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death." Mrs Johnson's English 7 classes used the equipment to respond to PSSA Writing questions. The Senteos save paper and allow for immediate feedback. This system was purchased with EETT Grant funds. |

| Our varsity cheerleaders earned a bid to Nationals at camp in August and was the only team to earn a Spirit Stick each night of camp! Our junior high cheerleaders were named "most improved team."
